Cervical Screening

Cervical Screening

Cervical screening is a free screening test for all people with a cervix between the ages 25-65. Cervical screening is a screening test for high risk HPV virus in your cervix. It is not a test for cancer. Some types of the HPV virus can cause cancerous change.  If high risk HPV is noted the test sample is checked for abnormal (precancerous) changes. You will get your results by letter usually about 4 weeks after your test.

Before booking your appointment please check the cervical check website to make sure that you are registered. If you are not registered we cannot perform your smear test.
